This machine woven Wilton rug has the rich lustre of wool combining “Peshawar” type designs and more relaxed traditional patterns with a warmer classical colour pallet. If you take a close look at the detail you will see that the rugs design elements are slightly irregular to give the appearance of a hand knotted rug and the New Zealand Wool yarn is space dyed (slightly toned) to give the marbled effect of a traditional vegetable dyed yarn.   The finish of the rug is superb too… this is because the manufacturer uses a cross woven technique which enables the fringe to be integrated into the rugs design giving the rug an that authentic hand woven look.
